Sažetak
Presenting ethnographic examples from the 1990’ s wars in Croatia and Bosnia-Hercegovina, the author shows how violence intensifies the relationship between people and places, how ethnicity becomes irrelevant for the analysis of war-related identifications situated in physical places and relying on practices, and how notions of normality, bravery and humiliation have been negotiated by the civilians in war.
