Sažetak
Metelkova City and Factory Rog undoubtedly represent the urban bastions of alternative culture in Slovenia. The task of this paper is to point out a few relevant aspects of the transformation of previously mentioned places within their wider historic, political, and economic frameworks. In addition, our interest is to rethink the character of the “ occupation” of the two public spaces in Ljubljana’ s by the alternative culture movements. This “ occupation” is one a reflection of the historical changeover from the bureaucratic socialism to liberal capitalism. However, the concept “ alternative culture” itself requires further clarification, since it has been already appropriated and co-modified under the framework of liberal multiculturalism and capitalist market.
