Sažetak
Fruit morphology plays an important role in the taxonomy of the family Apiaceae. Therefore, the length and width of mericarp, length of stylopody and number of hooked bristles on 3.12 mm2 of mericarp surface were measured and analzed from four populations in Croatia (humid habitats on Učka and the Velebit mountain, and to wind exposed thermophyllic habitats near Ličko Lešće and on Biokovo mountain). Results were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA for measured characteristics and statistics correlation among the characteristics of each population, at P=0.05 significance level. Statistically significant differences were found for the length of mericarp among all four populations. The number of the hooked bristles were significantly diferent among the tested populations except between Učka and Ličko Lešće. Th elength of stylopody also differed, except for the Velebit - Ličko Lešće and Biokovo - Učka combinations. The width of mericarps was established as the most unifom characteristics, significantly diferent only between populations on Učka and Ličko Lešće. Negative correlation between the lenght of mericarps and number of the bristles, and between the width of mericarps and the number of the bristles were found in each population (except Ličko Lešće for the latter combination). This suggests the existence of the constant total number of the bristles in each population, which was not expected since the number of the bristles eas the most variable characteristics in all four eximend populations. The estableshed morphological variabilities sugest the phentypic variability of the examined populations.
