Sažetak
The overall success in this demanding event depends on integral functioning of mutually conditioned factors, which influence sports accomplishments. The hypothesis that swimming speed in the second part of the backstroke segment, and the whole breaststroke segment along with the associated turns are the key race segments, in which swimmers are differentiated regarding their technical readiness, has been confirmed. Energetic-tactical readiness factor is highly correlated with the efficient technique, and based on results an importance of technical, tactical and functional readiness can be emphasized. The importance of development of all the components integrated in the 200m individual medley race, with the emphasis on the backstroke and breaststroke technique and the technical-tactical performance accompanied by the adequate psycho-functional readiness, has been confirmed. All the analyzed parameters should be put into an optimal ratio, which will lead to a maximum synergic effect and utilization of all the potentials in reaching the swimmer’ s highest efficiency.
