Sažetak
This paper identifies cost-effective energy and carbon dioxide emissions savings in the hot rolling mills that can be achieved both today and in the near future. First, the trends in global CO2 emissions in the steel industry were discussed. Then, the specific energy efficiency technologies and measures to reduce energy use and carbon dioxide emissions as well as energy efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions reduction potential for hot rolling were described, giving the focus on retrofit measures using commercially available technologies.
