Sažetak
On commissioning or deployment of a technical system, it is necessary to provide estimate of its reliability. Therefore the ultimate task of maintenance engineer is to ensure meeting the safety, functionality, time and budget goals. This paper discusses the problem of life cycle management with insufficient failure record of the equipment. This lack is addressed by using expert opinion and Bayesian modeling. We will present the framework for Bayesian updating of the reliability models and point out the different aspects of updating process. The use of expert opinion, generic data and the types of uncertainties associated are discussed.
