Sažetak
By researching of new nontraditional raw materials and using those materials in a combination with traditional materials it is possible to produce a new value through the new material applications. Crushed clay brick and tiles make a most part of the waste resulted from the masonry construction and demolition. Usage of crushed clay brick is of significant importance, because it reduces the problem of construction and demolition waste storage and helps to conserve the natural resources. The mortar and concrete made with crushed brick as an aggregate have a better thermal properties and fire resistance than the normal mortar and concrete with natural aggregate. Therefore, the paper presents possible applications of the crushed brick as a raw material for new applications in civil engineering. It also presents an overview of usage of crushed clay brick in a production process of new construction products.
