Sažetak
The influence of tempering temperature on the hardness of the quenched and tempered nodular cast iron NL700 was examined in this paper. NL700 contains a pearlitic matrix after casting. That matrix is changed into a tempered martensite one by the quenching and tempering treatments in order to obtain higher hardness and tensile strength. A whole series of tempering treatments in the temperature range from 200oC up to 510 oC was done in the experimental part of this research. A tempering curve and a mathematical model for NL700 were designed according to the hardness values measured after tempering. The goal of this research is to identify the influence of tempering temperature on the achieved hardness in order to determine the tempering parameters for the desired levels of hardness.
