Sažetak
In Croatia, inclusion of children with special needs is a slow process despite the national plans and strategies. Therefore, long term project "Children with special needs within the interactive system Family-School-Peers " aims to determine how does micro system of children with special needs affect their social inclusion. Some results show that parents of children with learning difficulties have lower perceived parenting competence, lower social status and adverse attitudes towards children with LD(Igrić, Cvitković, 2007). The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between attitudes toward the child and perception of his behavior and child’s self-perception. The sample includes 80 parents of children with learning difficulties and 200 parents of "typical" children. The measuring instruments used were: Parents Questionnaire UR-1 (Mavrin-Cavor, 1982) ; Behavior Rating Profile BRP-2 (Brown and Hammill, 1990) ; Self-perception Profile for children(Harter, 1985). The results contribute to understanding the role of parents as one of the micro system of children with special needs and are to be used in intervention program important for social inclusion of this vulnerable group.
