Sažetak
Investigations of mixing properties in the horizontal rotating tubular bioreactor (HRTB) by using the temperature step method resulted in an evaluation of the structured "spiral flow" model (1,2). The adjustable parameters of the model were optimised by "Monte-Carlo" method. For a semifundamental scale-up procedure it is necessary to make a relation between the adjustable model parameters and the process parameters of the bioreactor (usually expressed as a dimensionless numbers). The dimensional analysis was done by Gauss-Jordan reduction method. Mathematical equations which relate adjustable model parameters with dimensionless numbers were developed by a surface regression based on Maclaurin power series. The equations with the highest correlation coefficients were applied further for developing the scale-up procedure of HRTB.
