The 22nd congress of Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (C.I.N.P.) covered basic, preclinical and clinical data on the biological basis of mental disorders, mechanism(s) of drug action, drug effects, efficacy, tolerability and adverse effects of antidepressants and antipsychotics. Among other neurotransmitters and neuropeptides (GABA, CRF), the meeting focused mainly on the roles of serotonin (5-HT), noradrenaline (NA) and dopamine (DA) in pathophysiology and treatment of mental disorders.
