Sažetak
Objective: To analyze trends in declaring authorship contributions relating to data analysis and interpretation. Summary: We analyzed statements on the contribution of individual authors of research articles with two or more authors submitted to the Croatian Medical Journal from 2000 to 2005 (total of 461 articles and 2080 authorship forms). „ Analysis and interpretation of data“ was the most frequent contribution choice overall in each study year, showing significant increase (Cochran-Armitage [C-A] trend test, p=0.003). „ Data acquisition“ was the only authorship category with stable proportion during the six-year period (C-A trend test, p=0.759). „ Provision of study material or patients“ remained the most frequent non-authorship contribution, notwithstanding descent from the third most frequent contribution in 2000 to the seventh place in 2005. „ Statistical expertise, “ defined as advice on statistics but not actual statistical analysis was increasingly declared by authors in the studied period (C-A trend test, p=0.013). Conclusions: Our results suggest that authors of research articles are increasingly giving more importance to contributions related to data analysis and interpretation, despite the fact that some of them are not included in the definition of authorship by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.
