Sažetak
Paper describes technical options available at refurbishing a hydropower generator. Assuming that the generator has been uprated by 36% (from 22 MVA to 30 MVA) the analysis of several design solutions with different number and dimensions of slots has been made. The analysis is based on utilisation of contemporary materials and manufacturing processes that could be applied on the refurbished generator. As a final result the power losses and efficiencies are presented also including reactances and electromagnetic loads. In this way the evaluation of each design solution can be made. In the end the analysis of power and efficiency increase achieved by refurbishing a hydrogenerator has been shown from the economic aspect. On the basis of economic benefit resulting from increased production of electric energy and reduced losses the economic evaluation of each design solution has been made with an intention of choosing the most convenient one.
