Sažetak
Three groups of marine biotoxins DSP, PSP and ASP are determined in samples of mussels from farms in the area around the Adriatic (Croatia). Farm are located in the northern, central and the southern part of the Adriatic Sea. Monitoring lasted from 2000 until today, except for the ASP since 2005. The number of farms in monitoring increased over the years. All the analyzed samples during these years on the PSP and ASP are below the levels specified in Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council. PSP toxins are analysed by mouse bioassay, and ASP toxins are analysed with HPLC method. The only measured values of domoic acid were in February and March 2006 in samples from the area of the central Adriatic, while all other values measured in the samples were below the detection limit. DSP toxins were determined using a mouse bioassay, and almost all the samples that were positive were analyzed by the LC-MS. The results that were positive by mouse bioassay, are not proven in any case at levels above those laid down in Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 with the measurement by the LC-MS. The proportion of positive results for DSP according to the results of mouse bioassay by years has ranged from 2.3% to 8.6%. LC-MS measurement of 60 positive samples from a total of 90 positive to the mouse bioassay, showed that only 6 measurements were above the levels specified in Regulation (EC) No 853/2004.
