Sažetak
Meteorological services around the globe utilize standard balloon probing once, twice or even four times every day. These probes reach up to 40 km high and produce high quality, standardised and long term continuous data which can be used for refraction index computing. Three ten years long data sets of Italian aerological stations were used for research of anomalous propagation over Adriatic Sea. All three anomalous conditions: superrefractions, subrefractions and radio ducts were occurred frequently, with characteristic patterns revealed by statistical analysis. Due to short time travel of radio navigation satellite signals through troposphere, influences of nonstandard refraction are not serious for ordinary user. But in cases of precise measurements, especially for satellites with low elevation it could produce a significant source of error. In fact, it is possible that many cases of anomalous refractions were misinterpreted as mirroring or multipath errors
