Sažetak
This paper deals with the creation of EU terms in Croatian in the field of consumer protection law. Based on a comparative analysis of the English, French and German terminology in 10 EU directives, their equivalents in the Croatian translations and the Croatian terminology in the transposed national legislation, the author draws attention to problematic terms in the Croatian Consumer Protection Act and the Obligations Act which appear to be incoherent with the EU terms in the analyzed directives. Since one of the main purposes of the translation of EU directives is to assist Croatian lawmakers in the harmonization process, the author examines to which extent the terminology in the Croatian translations is taken into account during transposition.
