Sažetak
The design of 3rd generation air interface includes defining a set of radio physical parameters and protocols which are forming the communication interface between mobile and base stations in mobile communications such as defining radio frequency spectrum, physical and logical channel structure, signalisation protocols, data and spreading modulation, bearer capabilities (packet and circular switched data transmission), transmission), etc. This paper will approach to this problem in short and generally with some concrete results from two solutions provided from European Telecommunications Standards Institute ETSI - UTRA (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access) and cdma2000 (registered mark of American Telecommunications Industry Association - TIA).
