Sažetak
Algal growth potential (AGP) of Chlorella kessleri in the water of Lake Sakadš was investigated by the miniaturized bioassay method. Nitrogen and phosphorous were added to the original water samples in concentrations (g/dm3): 0.72; 1.44; 2.89 KNO3 and 2.25; 3.37; 6.75 K2HPO4 and the weekly growth increase in C. kessleri was evaluated. For the toxicity evaluation, the origimal samples were modified by dilution with distilled water in 1:1 ratio, as well as by addition of Na2EDTA. AGP was maximal after 28 or 35 days of cultivation in all water samples. Based on the maximal biomass of C. kessleri in the original water samples, Lake Sakadaš was mezo-eutrophic in December and January and oligotrophic in November, March and April. The saturation of the water with solutions of N and P caused the highest stimulation of AGP in December and January. At the beginning of spring, the growth of C. kessleri was less stimulated by the addition of these solutions. Toxic compounds were present during the winter months.
