Sažetak
Three-dimensional mathematical model of solidification of cast steel sphere has been formulated and investigated in the paper. Partial differential equation of heat conduction is solved by means of Brian's numerical implicit method. The method is proved to be good for solidification simulation of castings of curved surfaces. Thermophysical properties of mold and casting depend on temperature, which gives nonlinearity to the model. At the same time a new formula for dependence of cooling modulas upon the time of solidification is stated, which is improvement of Adams formula for solidification of cast steel sphere.
