Sažetak
The task of this paper is to give insight into fouling community on test-panels, placed in temperate oligotrophic sea (Vela luka Bay, island Korcula, Croatia). The test-panels are made of two different types of glass reinforced plastics and were placed on two different depths (0.5 m and 2.5 m). After three and six months of imersion we got the panels out of water. We have analysed the samples and determined the settled species, and where it has not been possible, the higher sistematic group of fouling plants and animals. According the results we have made the following conclusions: 1. The plates which were imersed during the three months period were more poorly fouled then the six months imersed plates. 2. The upper plates were heavily fouled by plants where the lower plates were heavily fouled by animal organisms. 3. The outer plate sides were better fouled by plants where inner sides of plate were better fouled by animals. 4. The total biomass of fouling was not high because of low nutrients content (oligotrophic water). We have found great variety of species, but there were some predominant plant and animal species, which contribute by great amounts to the total biomass of fouling. Those species were: Ectocarpus paradoxus var. Lebeliides, Feldmania irregularis var. Lebeliides, Fosliela farinosa, Myrionema sp., Cladophora sp., Polysiphonia scopulorum, Rhizoclonium tortuosum, Spirorbis sp., Filograna sp., Schizoporella sp.). The results we have come up are similar to those from other experiments and to those reported from the ships.
