Sažetak
Contemporary educational process is based on the humanistic approach focused on the student and his/her needs. These needs are development-oriented, and they must be identified in the teaching process and represent milestones for planning, programming, implementation and evaluation. These elements of the educational process repeat themselves continuously. The authors outline research that questions a role of internal assessment of teaching. Basic questions are: Do we enable all students to be successful? What is the level of our communication and mutual expectations? What innovations shall we introduce into our teaching? The role of assessment is to indicate implemented activities and results, to enrich previous knowledge on teamwork of all participants in teaching, and directs the teaching process. The research has been based on elements of the assessment procedure. Feedback information on these elements has been provided by all participants of the teaching process, as well as by the professors’ evaluation done by their students for courses taught by the authors of the article. Results indicate relatively high evaluation of the teachers, their relationship to students, students’ dedication, and general impression of the course. Nothing is perfect and everything can be improved. It means that professors, free of self-censorship, perform assessment, thus raising awareness on the elements of the teaching process that need to be developed and improved.
