Sažetak
A shipbuilding market has been subject to numerous influences, such as: cyclic instability of selling function, intensive integration of control, inspection and other functions of ship systems and subsystems, demands for more complex and nonstandard products (ships), requests for reduction of the ship construction period and the tender making period; increased competition with respect to the quality and prices of products.Based on the above elements, the paper presents modern scientific methods and techniques like CAD/CAM, CAM, CIM, ROBOT, and the research and implementation of the flexible manufacturing system in marine shipbuilding. Using the proposed methods the paper will try to contribute in reducing the ship construction period and the ship price as well, also, in improving the final product quality.
