Sažetak
Complicated crown fractures involve enamel-dentin and pulp. At the site of pulp exposure it is possible to observe red pulp tissue or slight haemorrhage from the pulp. If treatment of such injury is delayed for several days in young permanent teeth the proliferation of pulp tissue can occur (i.e. pulp polyp). In management of complicated crown fractures retention of capping material and prevention of microleakage is of crucial importance. Microleakage and bacterial penetration are the main cause for treatment failure and pulp inflammation and necrosis. Use of dentin bonding systems can provide better marginal seal. Partial pulpotomy could be considered method of the choice for treatment of traumatically exposed pulp because it gives highly predictable results with success which ranges from 94% to 100%. A high rate of success for partial pulpotomy is considered to be related to the efficient sealing of the pulp exposure by dressing and restorative materials such as glass monomer or adhesives with composite resins.
