Sažetak
Surface roughness and board thickness variations are the most important parameters of the sawing quality and teeth wearing influences them both. In order to find out the relation between the teeth cutting edge wearing and the above parameters, measurements on a log band saw in normal working conditions were carried out. Both parameters were measured using a Hottinger DMC Plus Data Acquisition System. The measuring procedure and the transducers are described in the paper as well as the analyzed measurement results. According to the measurement results it can be said that both, the board thickness variation and the surface roughness, are increasing with the increase of the cutting edge wearing. The relation between the surface roughness and cutting time i.e. cutting length, has been mathematically expressed while the relation between the board thickness variation and cutting time, i.e. cutting length, has been graphically represented.
