Sažetak
In this paper we review the main advances done in the last few years in the field of heavy ion transfer reactions at energies close to the Coulomb barrier. A presentation will be given on the more recent experimental techniques and on the application of semiclassical theories. Differential and total cross sections and total kinetic energy loss distributions and the connection between multinucleon transfer reactions and other competing reaction channels will be discussed. New aspects connected with the development of tracking spectrometers coupled to large $\gamma$ arrays and the possibility to perform at the same time reaction mechanism and $\gamma$ spectroscopy studies will be outlined.
