Sažetak
Owing to the surging energy costs and the global financial crisis, energy conservation and environmental management trends such as the green hotel movement and ecotourism are likely to be accelerated in the near future. In Croatia, numerous viability issues – e.g., pronouncedly high seasonality and incomplete and/or poorly executed hotel privatization process – are partly responsible for the dubious operational efficiency of many hotels. Consequently, one may expect that the adoption and implementation of environmental standards by Croatian hoteliers is still at an early stage. Since no research has been conducted to determine the state of environmental management in Croatian hotels, the purpose of this study was to emprically investigate the Croatian hoteliers' attitudes towards environmental management.
