Sažetak
“ Prevent the loss of the tooth surfaces integrity” is the challenge for the dental profession for the 21st century. The GC MITP aims to organize this global approach based on rational recommendations and following the holistic concept of health and welfare. Now is well-recognized that is possible at an early stage of caries to arrest and even reverse the mineral loss before cavitation. New methods based on laser fluorescency, measurement of electric conductivity and ultrasound give us information about earliest lost of mineral from hard dental tissue. In case of early caries we can apply remineralisation solution. For remineralisation topical fluoride therapy in the form of varnish, gel, mouth rinse or toothpaste has been used extensively as a caries-preventive intervention. Casein phosphopeptide stabilised amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) and amorphous calcium fluoride phosphate (CPP-ACFP) solutions have been shown to remineralise enamel subsurface lesion. White spot lesions on labial surface can be treated with topical preparations of CPP-ACP and CPP-ACFP to reverse the subsurface mineral loss and achieve normal enamel translucency. Biological protection of teeth is able to achieve with glass-ionomers which are biocompatible, adhere on hard dental tissues and realise fluorides. In case of cavitation using new generation of dental adhesives, flowable composits as well resin materials is possible to preserve a hard dental tissue.
