Sažetak
An extreme complexity of informational description of transport networks with SDH and PDH elements requires an expert system. It should be an efficient tool for developing Information Systems for transport network monitoring and management. The expert system consists of three segments: Network Element Designer (NED), Network Equipment Designer (NEQ), and Network Topology Designer (NTD). This paper is focused on an expert system database (Repository database) and an application covering the Network Equipment Designer part (NEQ) of the project. The NED application and the corresponding database section were developed previously and were the prerequisites for NEQ. NEQ provides modularity, extendibility to new features and similarity of the solutions in all network environments. The resulting database and related applications are being used already for experimental purposes.
