Sažetak
The deformation of spur gear with the chosen geometric parameters, has been the subject of the investigation by means of Finite Element Method. A single 3D gear model was established with angular extension of 120a, consisted of the loaded tooth and its adjacent teeth. In relation to the boundary conditions, radial edges of the model were completely constrained, in the same time inner part of the rim constrained only for solid gear, while the middle tooth was subjected along the tip to the uniformly distributed load.
The loaded tooth mid-plane displacements were determined and observed at certain points along the tooth height in the middle cross-section of the tooth, and along the lines through this points which are parallel with the tooth facewidth.
By modelling 3D gear models, the actual tooth three-dimensionality was taken into account by various values of tooth facewidths that can be considered narrow and much wider.
On the basis of the obtained results, the displacement distributions were established along the tooth height, as well as along the lines parallel with the tooth facewidth. The combined effect of the rim thickness and the tooth facewidth of no webbed gear, upon the displacements of the tooth mid-plane, were analysed.
The displacement deviation of the gear with the chosen facewidth and the rim thickness value, from the corresponding ones for narrow facewidth solid gear, point to the differences the loaded tooth is deformed, related both to the magnitude and the distribution across the tooth facewidth and the height.
