Sažetak
The Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) is a standard language for describing interactive virtual worlds on the Internet. Virtual worlds are typically delivered over the Internet from a World-Wide Web server. Common problems with such worlds include long download times for multimedia components and adding dynamic content to virtual worlds. Known solutions include use of media library and database extensions to VRML. In this paper, we propose a combined approach to achieve flexible and "bandwidth-aware" virtual world design. The benefits of the proposed approach are demonstrated using an implementation case study.
