Sažetak
Renewable energy sources have an increasingly important role in worldwide energy production, which gives them a growing importance in the environment preservation field as the main tourist resource. The world is implying to more rational energy control, which is a way towards the stronger usage of renewable energy sources. This paper analyses renewable energy sources potentials in Croatia as a tourist destination, which are unfortunately very poorly used so far. The possibilities of renewable energy sources development in a tourist destination are also presented in this paper. Their proportion in the future should be increased significantly, especially in the tourist destination space management program system. The paper analyses, from the economical point of view, the economical effects of renewable energy sources implementation, and the increasing demands and problems in the energy supply of hotel companies, which have to come up with the optimal energy usage solution. It can be concluded that there is a need for the energy efficiency increase, according to the environment improvement and protection concept.
