Sažetak
The Internet with all its functions and its explosive growth connects people and businesses in networks. Therefore, Internet has created societies that are depending on technological progress which is essential for future development. The implementation of information and communication technologies ; creation of appropriate production, trade, service, and management ; together with E-business, and entering the globalization processes can cause further development of the seaport. The technological support in this business sector is required to obtain successful management. This new organizational approach connects all subjects involved in maritime traffic service. It is as well very effective in micro economic aspects (rationalization of costs and organization of administrative work), and it strengthens the coordination among business subjects in order to increase productivity and cost effectiveness. The increase of the sea port capabilities, developing higher level of cooperation and long-term partnership in port community, expansion of the local, regional, and national economy and better association with global economy are some of the broader macro economic aspects of switching to the usage of E-business in the port community.
