Sažetak
The field trial with hydratized dolomite meal (47% CaO + 34% MgO) application in four doses (5, 10, 15 and 20 t ha-1) was conducted on Gradiska planosol, the Republic of Srpska B&H (four replicates, basic plot 59.5 m-2). Maize have been grown during three growing seasons (2005 – 2007). The field experiment with the "Njival Ca" fertilizer (waste of the Serbian glass factory in Paracin: calcite 98.5% CaCO3 ; granulation <0.1 mm) was conducted with the treatments, on CaCO3 basis, as follows: 0 (the control), 0.8 and 1.6 t ha-1 (every year), 4.0 and 8.0 t ha-1 (at start of the experiment), on vertisol in Kragujevac municipality in spring 1998. The trial was conducted in five replicates and in the crop rotation as follows: wheat - ensilaged maize - soybean. The liming of planosols in the northern Bosnia resulted by yield increase for 48% (3-year mean yield: 4.19 and 6.23 t ha-1, for 0 and 20 t ha-1 of lime). Generally, low yields of maize were found on the control treatment (3-year mean yield was 4.18 t ha-1). The application of the highest lime rate in 2005 was increased the yield twofold. Besides, by the lower lime rates application, the yield was increased for 40% (5 t ha-1 of lime) and for 71% (10 and 15 t ha-1 of lime). In the second year of testing, the liming resulted by the yield increase up to 44%. In the 2007 the average maize yield was lower than in the previous years (2005 and 2006) because of extreme drought conditions (drought stress, mean maize yield was 4.53 t ha-1). The dose of 15 t ha-1 of lime resulted by yield increase for 42 % in comparison to the control. In general, the liming considerably influenced yields of the ensilaged maize on vertisol in Serbia and single application of the high rate of lime is better choice in comparison with repeated use of the low rates of lime. This experiment was conducted in triplicate (maize-soybean-wheat rotation). The yield increases (single 8 t ha-1 and repeated applications of 1.6 t ha-1, respectively), in comparison to the control were as follows: 29% and 9% (ensilaged maize), 7% and 3% (wheat), 24% and 9% (soybean).
