Sažetak
There is a lot of newly synthesized substituted benzothiazoles which showed antimicrobial activity tested for "in vitro", antibacterial activity against different gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and also tested for antifungal activity. On the othar hand, many 2-(4-amino.phenyl)benzothiazoles display potent and selective antitumor activity against brest, ovarian, colon and renal cells. This data promted us to continue the synthesis of substituted benzothiazoles with nitro substituent in the benzothiazole's nucleus. The main step of the reaction is the nitration of unsubstituted benzothiazole and the separation of isomeric nitrobenzothiazoles from the reaction mixture. It was obtained 4, 5, 6 and 7 mono-substituted nitrobenzothiazoles with different yields. 4-nitro and 6-nitrobenzothiazoles substituted in the 2-position were prepared in the multystep synthesis.
