Sažetak
The rapidly changing world in terms of technological advances, globalization, diversity, mobility and social tolerance has undoubtedly influenced not only what and how teachers teach, but also how they are educated. Substantial changes have been made in the education of teachers in order to define “ the new teaching profession” , to face new tasks and challenges of the day. The introduction and application of the Bologna process in the education of primary school teachers and foreign language teachers also presupposed redefining and changing the program of study. The article contains descriptions of competences of primary school teachers and primary school foreign language teachers and how these competences are reflected in the program of study at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Zagreb.
