Sažetak
This paper is a review and analysis of aims and a comparison of curricula and syllabi for physical education in some European countries. The actual comparison refers to the defined main aims of teaching physical education in preschool, primary and secondary school. By comparing the aims we have come to the conclusion that developing motor skills and abilities, promoting health through physical activity and everyday physical activity promoting an active way of life is the primary orientation of the analysed curricula. This point of view should be the basis of all curricula and syllabi of physical education in Europe, no matter if the countries are members of the EU or not.
