Sažetak
Methionine production from racemic mixtures of alpha -hydroxy acids has been fully optimized by the modeling of the reaction and the enzyme membrane reactors. A detailed kinetic evaluation was carried out to determine the kinetic expression. To predict the performance of a continuously operated enzyme membrane reactor for the production of methionine, the mass balances of all reaction components were set up for a continuous stirred tank reactor. The reactor model was used to estimate the relationship between the steady state substrate conversion and the enzyme ratio, concentration of alpha -keto-acid and polyethyleneglycol bound coenzyme and residence time. The effect of conversion on the reactor productivity was also studied using the developed model.
