Sažetak
Production and utilization of high protein feeds (HPF) in Republic of Croatia is studied in this work. Analyzed HPF are: hors bean and pea; soybean, sunflower and rapeseed seed and meal like plant protein source. Analyzed animal protein sources are fish, meat-bone meal and urea. Protein requirements on national level are counted. Low protein feeds and HPF requirements are compared and a national production of HPF is studied and takes in relation with imported quantity of HPF. Variability in quality and changes in production and market are the main problem in Croatian HPF. Croatian comparative advantages are good basis for future HPF production (especially non-GMO soybean) and our opportunity for higher HPF utilization in domestic animal production and our presents on international market.
