Sažetak
Is there a better way of making a comment about a society we live in then to make it from a naive and innocent point of view of a seven year old boy? A film « Tito and Me» is such a comment on a communist regime shown from a perspective of a boy called Zoran. He is obsessed with the image of Tito, the praised leader and founder of communism on the grounds of ex Yugoslavia. A film is actually a window into philosophy and issues of the society where the boys sympathy is only used to portrait for some naive and for others forced « respect» and obedience of the regime. A method of « a boy as an unbiased bystander» is often used to emphasize the absurd of world of the adults. Little did the boy understand how the regime influences his parents who were artists and intellectuals. His obsession with Tito is a humoristic yet so true representation of how a society of the time was raised. The comment doesn't stop here. It develops through a motive of a boy being disappointed in his idol as a prediction of grown-ups losing their ideals, which will consequently end in a breakdown of a regent regime. This paper elaborates the idea behind the film considering two interesting informations: it was made in the year 1992., during a war between Yugoslavia and Croatia, and it was made by a Serbian director, Goran Markovic. The movie also won 2 Silver Seashell awards for directing and best juvenile acting.
