Sažetak
The present invention discloses zeolite A with face-less particles of pseudo-spherical morphology, with particles range from 0.4 to 4  m in size, having high ratio (about 2.7) between the real (measured with BET method) and geometrical external surface area (this ratio is about 1 for the zeolite A having “ standard” morphologies). The invention disclose the sinthesys and use of the said zeolite. The new zeolite FLA is demonstrating: (i) high absorption capacity of zeolite MAP for non-ionic surfactants is caused rather by difference in the particle size than by the specific surface properties of zeolite MAP relative to specific properties of commercially available zeolite A, (ii) zeolite FLA is characterized by pseudo-spherical morphology, i.e high ratio (about 2.7) between the real (BET) and geometrical external surface area and thus higher external specific surface area and corresponding higher absorption ability as compared with zeolites having the same or similar particle size (e.g. zeolite MAP), (iii) zeolite FLA have effective calcium binding capacity higher than is effective binding capacity of zeolite MAP, (iv) zeolite FLA have high calcium exchange rate even at room temperature, (v) crystallization time of zeolite MAP is significantly longer compared with those in the production of commercially available zeolite A, while crystallization time of zeolite FLA is comparable or even considerably shorter than is the reaction time needed for the synthesis of standard zeolite A used as detergent builder and (vi) reaction yield for the production of zeolite FLA is up to 24 wt. Zeolite FLA is substantially superior to both zeolite A and zeolite MAP as detergent builder, especially in highly concentrated compact detergent powder and have a high potential as carrier of proteins and/or other biologically-active and biologically-based compounds.
