Sažetak
Hepatitis A and B markers were examined in 37 patients affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), clinically definite MS patients differentiated by IMAB criteria. Hepatitis markers were analyzed by radio-immune-assay with Abott’ s reagent. 23.8% MS patients have been bearers of hepatitis B markers while the one of the subjects was simultaneously positive to 3 hepatitis B antibodies. Two of the MS patients were IgM anti HAV positive. Three of four hepatitis B positive examined quoted blood transfusion or repeated perfusions of other medicaments in their anamnesis. The MS patients with positive IgM anti HAV denied hepatitis infection. The MS patients were HBs Ag negative in comparison with the healthy control of Yugoslav population being chronically HBs antigens (HBs Ag) bearers in 2-7% of case. High percentage of positive anti HBs antibodies without simultaneous anti HBc positivism could suggest iatrogenous inoculation of hepatitis B in MS patients.
