Sažetak
Genetic instability is very common in Streptomyces species. The phenotypic and genetic bases of instability are reviewed and the question of whether there is a common mechanism for all forms of instability is discussed. The phenomenon of "reversion" of deletion mutations is considered in the context of a model that distinguishes the genetic content of mycelium and spores.
