Sažetak
When using Galva Pulse method (GPM) at investigations it is important to remember that the GPM measurement only gives an instant picture of the condition of the reinforcement. In concrete structures the corrosion activity of the reinforcement is influenced by a number of different parameters. In terms of precision and accuracy of the measurement it needs to be assessed, that determination of corrosion current density by GPM is only a semi-quantitative method. Test result assessment is conducted on the basis of ASTM C 876– 91 standard and experience criteria from literature. Therefore, because of measurement results complexity and large number of external parameters which have influence on measurement, experience of personnel performing analysis is crucial. Tendentious it can be distinguished between areas of strong, medium, or low respectively no corrosion. Additionally it needs to be considered, that GPM-measurements only provide a current value of actual corrosion condition, which significantly depends on actual concrete conditions. Pulse measurements do not provide information about past as well as future corrosion conditions and evolution. That’ s why long time observation combined with periodical pulse measurements provide better information about tendency of corrosion condition and evolution.
