In this paper we prove the non-recurrent case of the Ingram conjecture by showing that if $T_s$ and $T_t$ are two tent maps with non-recurrent critical points then $\lim_{; ; ; ; \leftarrow}; ; ; ; \{; ; ; ; [0, s/2], T_s \}; ; ; ; $ is homeomorphic to $\lim_{; ; ; ; \leftarrow}; ; ; ; \{; ; ; ; [0, t/2], T_t \}; ; ; ; $ if, and only if $s=t$.
