Sažetak
Project success is reached when project meets its objectives under budget and under schedule. This evaluation criteria has remained as the most common measure in many industries. For the development phase, projects success goes beyond meeting schedule and budget constraints and includes the impact on the benefits, meeting the expectations of stakeholders and supporting the organizations strategy. The initiation phase is a critical and initial step in a successful delivery of projects. This paper gives a review of the the best practices in the industry regarding initiation phases and elaborates typical deliverables. We found that this is the right time to set the team and the project up, for success in following phases. We have identified projects failure factors, key processes and resources for the initiation phase to achieve project success.
