Sažetak
The Verbotonal method began with the entrance of world famous linguist to medical audiology back in 1954. It grew and developed in collaboration with many disciplines (some medical, like otolaringology, neurology, pediatrics, physical therapy, then phonetics, logopedics, electroacustics, psychology, pedagogy, music, visual and scenic arts and other scientific and artistic domains).
There is also interdisciplinary interaction between the three working areas and involved people. Diagnostics develops and spreads according to rehabilitation needs (known for many new methods according to the functional diagnostics data and verbotonal theory, which strives to give interpretations and crystallize the unity.
Biological bases of mind and speech are stimulated at the preverbal phase. The rehabilitation of listening starts at prehuman level, at the stage of fish using the whole body as somatosensoric pathway.
Due to its importance in the mind, listening and speech development, confirmed by many researchers, extraordinary attention is paid to vestibular system.
Specific diagnostics and rehabilitation procedures are being developed for Cochlear implant children because they can hear, but do not know how to listen and speak.
