Sažetak
The presentation deals with a summarized evaluation of the present condition (comparative analysis of the pre- and post-war period), as well as the development guidelines of the Croatian air traffic within the context of the European countries integration process, articulated in the sense of the European ATM 2000+ Strategy towards an integrated European air traffic management network. The recent developments are aligned with the overall capacity enhancement plans developed within the EATMP, and are cooperative achievement of ICAO, EUROCONTROL and the relevant authorities of the States involved. From the Croatian point of view, the positive development projection is based on the reintegration of the existing international air routes (overflights), and also on the recently established Adriatic Corridor, which includes the new RNAV routes in the European routes network. Besides the positive impact on air traffic development in Croatia, these new routes would contribute in a wider region to a more rational usage of geo-traffic facilities and take the load off the existing European corridors. From the aspect of its geo-traffic position, the Croatian airspace provides the possibility of choosing the shortest air routes between Northwest Europe and the Near East.
