Sažetak
A certain body of research into the development of speech shows that already at the age of three, children use passively an actively a multitude of language expressions to mark off space and spatial relationships. The therapeutic experience at the SUVAG Polyclinic leads to the conclusion that children with langugage development disorders show a significant falling behind in the area of understanding, learning and active use of notions and words concerning space and spatial relationships. We observed children falling behind in the understanding as well as in the production of speech. They were examined by a speech pathologist and their speech development level was checked by Reynell test. We tried to estimate comprehension, accuracy and diversity of expressions in marking off space by 14 boys aged four to five with langugage disorders. It was found that these boys have a delayed or retarded development of speech, and their Reynell test results show a more than one year delay in the understanding of speech. We observed non verbal and verbal expressions in which children tried to mark off space as well as the character and the structure of the relationship between, eye movements and words.
