Sažetak
In Croatia, all institutional prerequisites for capital market functioning are fulfilled. But still, capital market is continuously going through changes whose goal is to more efficiently approach the standards dictated by the EU. Globalization process has affected all institutional activities, which influenced forming of a new institution for supervision of overall financial services on capital market (Croatian Financial Services Supervisory agency). After merging process, there is one stock exchange (ZSE) on Croatian capital market ; also Croatian Financial Services Supervisory agency is very active and Central Depositary Agency. The financing of company development through primary issue (Initial Public Offering) is becoming well known to Croatian companies. In the past 2 years, the state is stimulating the capital market development because it sold some big companies (INA, HT), whose shares were in the state's portfolio, through the process of introduction to the capital markets. By developing the new corporate activities, investors are encouraged to take additional investments. A developed capital market is a basic pre-condition for creation of positive economical trends in a country’ s development.
