Sažetak
Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of Croatia, as well as its cultural, scientific, economic and governmental centre. Development of transport infrastructure network in and around Zagreb is essential to secure continuous economic growth and high quality of life. This paper discusses several large-scale projects – circular roads, railway & metro, river transport & crossings – aimed relieving traffic congestion in the city centre, improving suburban, national and international transport network connections, and integrating the city through livening up the riverside area by providing appropriate infrastructure. Realisation of the proposed projects requires synergy of superior technical skills and political determination.
